Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) recently hosted community breakfasts with over 50 local partners to strengthen relationships and share programming and services currently available to support students in schools.
During the annual sessions, superintendent of learning, Jennifer Johnston, associate superintendent of learning, Tanya Fraser, and the manager of Mental Health Services, Allison Jones, provided an overview of the specialized services and mental health services for TLDSB students. It also included student-prepared foods, handcrafted art on display, and a musical performance.
“These meetings provide a great opportunity to learn about the programs and services, as they are closely connected to the work taking place outside TLDSB schools in our communities,” said TLDSB director of education, Wes Hahn. “This is yet another opportunity for local agencies and organizations to come together and share challenges, successes, and insights they may have about students in our system.”
For the City of Kawartha Lakes area, the event was held on April 24 at Fenelon Falls Secondary School, for Muskoka, it was held on May 1 at Gravenhurst High School, and the Haliburton event was held on May 14 at Haliburton Highlands Secondary School.
Thank you to all of the partners who were able to continue to engage in these important conversations.
