Two People Taken To Hospital After Collision On Hwy. 400 In Georgian Bay Township

Southern Georgian Bay OPP responded at 6:21 a.m. May 3, 2023 to a single crash in the southbound lanes of Highway 400 between Hidden Glen Road and Joe Kings Road in Georgian Bay Township.

The single vehicle left the rain-soaked highway and entered the southbound ditch striking a rock and came to rest upside down on the guardrail.

OPP investigators were assisted by Paramedics from Simcoe County Paramedic Services and Muskoka Paramedic Services along with Georgian Bay Township Fire Service in freeing the trapped occupants.

The 36-year-old female driver and 38-year-old male passenger, both of Midland were transported to hospital for medical treatment of non life threatening injuries sustained in the crash.

The driver has been charged with a Highway Traffic Act offence in connection to the crash.

The southbound lanes of Highway 400 were closed / restricted lane access to traffic from 6:21 a.m. until 9:12 a.m. May 3, 2023.
