Township Of Oro-Medonte Approves 2023/2024 Multi-Year Budget

The Township of Oro-Medonte Council passed the 2023/2024 multi-year budget that
reflects an additional $202.31 in 2023 on a residential home assessed at $500,000. The 4.5% overall increase is inclusive of the County of Simcoe, School Boards, and municipal portion.
The Township’s share is allocated between 5% for operating expenditures, and 1.5% for
infrastructure projects. For necessary infrastructure projects to be accelerated, the Township is allocating an additional one time investment of $1.6 million for capital infrastructure road rehabilitation projects.

Mayor Greenlaw commented that “planning a budget to build Oro-Medonte’s exciting future while maintaining fiscal responsibility was a key focus during preparation of the 2023/2024 multi-year budget. On behalf of Council and staff, I am pleased that we have been able to strike a balance of ensuring strategic investment into infrastructure projects and maintaining service levels while keeping the increase below the rate of inflation. Throughout the budget process, current economic challenges impacting the taxpayers of Oro-Medonte were given thoughtful and careful consideration. The 2023/2024 budget is financially aligned with the Township’s vision representing a balanced and strategic growth of Oro-Medonte.”
