Hospital AGM Returns To ‘In Person’ Format Following 3 Years Of Virtual Meetings

Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH) will hold its 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM) in person for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic forced it online back in 2020.

Traditionally hosted at Branch 34 of the Royal Canadian Legion prior to the pandemic, the AGM will instead take place at the Orillia Recreation Centre at 255 West Street on Tuesday, June 27th starting at 5:30 pm.

“The Legion has been a gracious host over the years but with extensive construction underway in the area and a temporary lack of nearby parking, we’ve elected to hold the meeting at the Recreation Centre,” said OSMH President and CEO Carmine Stumpo.

“We look forward to a return to the Legion once construction is complete”.

The OSMH AGM is open to anyone who wishes to attend, although only those with current memberships in the corporation are eligible to vote.  On May 31st, the hospital will release its list of recommended candidates to fill the anticipated vacancies that will come due at the AGM.

Under hospital by-laws, additional nominations can still be submitted by Members of the Corporation up to 30 days prior to the AGM.  The deadline for submissions is end-of-day on Friday, May 26, 2023.  A Board Candidates Application Form is available on the Board of Directors page on the hospital’s website www.osmh.on.ca.
