The Orillia OPP say they are investigating a motor vehicle collision involving a cyclist, which sent one person to hospital.
On June 19, 2022, shortly after 3:30 p.m, Orillia OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a bicycle and a passenger vehicle on West Ridge Blvd. in Orillia.
A youth on a bicycle was transported to a local hospital and transferred by Air Ornge to a Toronto area Hospital with life-altering injuries.
The road remained closed for several hours while members of the Central Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) and Collision Reconstructionists attended and assisted with the investigation.
Police said the investigation is still ongoing at this time, therefor no charges have been laid.
Police encourage all drivers to be mindful of cyclists on the roadways, and further encourage all cyclists to follow the rules of the road and always wear a helmet.
