Winter Weather Travel Advisory In Effect

Weather advisory issued for:
South River – Burk’s Falls
Western Algonquin Park – Lake of Two Rivers
Parry Sound – Muskoka
Haliburton

Hazards:
Snow at times heavy. Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 4 cm an hour are possible.
Significantly reduced visibility in heavy snow and local blowing snow.
Strong winds gusting 60 to 70 km/h. Slippery road conditions.

When:
After midnight through Sunday morning.

Discussion:
Sudden reductions in visibility due to heavy snow and blowing snow are expected with the passage of a cold front early Sunday morning.

Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.
