Weapons Call Results In Several Charges For Burk’s Falls Resident

A weapons call results in one person arrested and charged on numerous criminal weapons offence charges.

On October 17, 2024, at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a weapons call for service at a residence in the Township of Ryerson where a person threatened another person with a firearm.

In addition, at approximately 8:00 p.m., same date, the Almaguin Highlands OPP Crime Unit executed a search warrant where they located and seized numerous firearms and ammunition.

Marc Reaman, 39-years-old of Burk’s Falls was arrested and charged with the following:

·      Assault with a weapon

·      Assault cause bodily harm – Choke, suffocate or strangle

·      Utter threats – cause death or bodily harm

·      Carry concealed weapon

·      Unauthorized possession of a firearm

·      Unauthorized possession of a weapon

·      Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition

·      Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm – four counts

·      Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo – two counts

·      Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

·      Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm

·      Careless use of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition – two counts

·      Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition – four counts

The accused was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody.
