A call into the OPP by a passing motorist of a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 400 south of Port Severn sent officers from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP to the scene to investigate at 9:20p.m. March 6, 2022.
Officers were able to locate the reported Dodge Caravan along with an individual with the vehicle.
After speaking with this individual, an drinking and driving investigation was commenced resulting in the following drinking and driving related charge for Ashwin Sood, 22 years of Scarborough.
- Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days and the accused’s drivers licence has been suspended for 90 days as per the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines. The accused was released on an undertaking to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 24, 2022.
