Two People Hurt After Serious Collision On Hwy. 12 In Ramara

The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating after a serious collision on Highway 12 near Concession Road 11 in Ramara Township.

On June 11, 2024 officers of the Orillia OPP responded to a serious collision involving two vehicles at Highway 12 and Concession Road 11 in Ramara Township. The initial information was that two vehicles had collided, one was in the ditch on fire, the other vehicle was still in the roadway, with occupants trapped inside.

With the assistance of Rama Police Service, Simcoe County Paramedics and Ramara Fire, everyone was able to get occupants out of the vehicle. Two parties were transported to a local area hospital and one occupant was air lifted to a Toronto area trauma centre with serious injuries.

The Central Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement unit (TIME) attended the location to continue the investigation. The highway was closed for several hours for investigation, however, has since been re-opened.
