On April 12, 2026, at approximately 2:00 a.m. the West Parry Sound OPP while on general patrol observed a vehicle travelling below the speed limit and weaving out of its lane. Officers stopped the vehicle on Highway 400 in the Seguin Township.

Jeremy MCMURPHY, 47 years-of-age of London Ontario was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
• Operation while impaired – alcohol

During the night of March 31, 2026 West Parry Sound OPP, through proactive patrols and calls from concerned citizens, located and arrested three impaired drivers in separate incidents.

At approximately 8:20 p.m. on Seguin Street in the Town of Parry Sound, Officers stopped an e-bike that was observed weaving through traffic and failing to stop at a red light.

Stephen Chisholm, 38 years-of-age of Parry Sound was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
• Operation while impaired – alcohol
• Uttering threats – damage property
• Having liquor in an open container in unauthorized place
• Fail to comply with probation order – two counts
• Operation while prohibited
• Improper lighting on motor assisted bicycle
• Failure to comply with undertaking
• Red light – fail to stop

The accused was held for bail and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on April 16, 2026.

At approximately 10:00 p.m. while conducting general patrol, Officers stopped a vehicle driving erratically on Oastler Park Drive in Seguin Township.

Dustin Hoskins, 47 years-of-age of Parry Sound was charged with

·        Operation while impaired – drug

·        Fail to signal – lane change

·        Fail to have insurance card

·        Litter highway

·        Disobey sign

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on June 4, 2026. The accused was also issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. Officers received a call from a concerned citizen regarding a vehicle swerving all over the road. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and driver at a restaurant on Church Street in the Town of Parry Sound.

Jatinkumar Patel 43 years-of-age of Parry Sound was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol
• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate following an arrest in Seguin Township.

On Thursday, November 27, 2025, an individual attended the West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to report injuries following an arrest that occurred on Sunday, October 5, 2025. The OPP notified the SIU, which has invoked its mandate.

On August 6, 2025, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the West Parry Sound OPP along with Parry Sound EMS and Seguin Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles on Highway 400 near Healey Lake Road in Seguin Township. One person has been pronounced deceased at the scene.

On March 31, 2025, at approximately 12:00 p.m. the West Parry Sound OPP were dispatched to a traffic complaint regarding a possible impaired driver. The vehicle was located and stopped on Cargill Drive in Seguin Township. Officers spoke with the driver and initiated an impaired driving investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Robert Flood, 67 years-of-age of Barrie Ontario was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol
• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
• Having care or control of a motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor
• Have care or control of a vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

On December 22, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m. the West Parry Sound Provincial Police (OPP) and the Parry Sound District Paramedic Services responded to a snowmobile collision near Millies Road in Seguin Township.

The 30-year-old snowmobile operator from Whitby was pronounced deceased at the scene. The OPP’s Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team and Technical Collison Investigator (TCI) are continuing to investigate.

Police did not release the name of the person.

The investigation is ongoing under the direction of the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OCC-OFPS). A post mortem examination is scheduled to take place at a later time in Toronto.

In February of 2020, victims began receiving multiple unwanted letters with harassing content. Following the receipt of multiple letters, the West Parry Sound OPP were called in to investigate.

As a result of the investigation, Marie-Claude BREAULT, 54 years-of-age of Seguin Ontario was arrested and charged with Criminal Harassment – 2 counts

On May 22, 2024, shortly before 11:00 a.m. members of the West Parry Sound OPP responded to a report of a collision between a farm tractor and a motor vehicle on Highway 141 in Seguin Township. The driver of the farm tractor left the scene of the collision prior to police arrival but was identified by witnesses.

As a result of the investigation, Ronald Rowe, 55 years-of-age of Seguin Ontario was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
• Operation while impaired – Alcohol and drugs
• Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code – 7 counts
• Dangerous operation
• Failure to stop after accident
• Fail to report accident

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 4, 2024. The farm tractor was impounded for 45 days.

On January 23, 2024, just prior to 11:00pm, the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call from staff at a local school advising that a vehicle had driven onto the property, going over stairs, and onto an area not designated for vehicles. The driver had exited the vehicle and was wandering the property.

Peterborough County OPP officers attended finding the driver unconscious in the snow prompting Fire and EMS to also attend. Officers determined the individual to be impaired and found them to be in possession of a small bag containing a crystal-like substance as well as items that had been removed from another vehicle on the property.

The driver was attended to by Paramedics.

As a result of the investigation, Jesse Paudash (age 29) of Seguin, ON, was arrested and charged with:

• Operation while impaired
• Theft Under $5000
• Possession of a Schedule I Substance
• Dangerous operation
• Use plate not authorized for vehicle
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on March 5, 2024.
