										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>An officer from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) operating a cruiser equipped with a Automated Licence Plate Reader (ALPR) has led to a number of illegal drug and driving related investigations for a Midland area resident on King Street, Midland after a vehicle stop at approximately 12:51 a.m. June 25, 2025.</p>
<p>The officer stopped a black Chevrolet Colorado on King Street, near Elizabeth Street and entered into a Highway Traffic Act investigation. Further interaction with the driver by the officer led to the seizure of approximately 30 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine, $3200 of Canadian currency along with an assortment of drug trafficking related paraphernalia after a search at the scene.</p>
<p>Charged is Brian Beausolfil 63 years of Midland with the following offences.</p>
<ul>
<li>Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking &#8211; Cocaine</li>
</ul>
<p>Contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act</p>
<p>And further with the following Provincial Offences Act charges</p>
<ul>
<li>Drive motor vehicle &#8211; No insurance</li>
<li>Drive motor vehicle while under suspension</li>
</ul>
<p>The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on the August 7, 2025. The involved vehicle was towed in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p data-olk-copy-source="MessageBody">Members of the Orillia detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an animal complaint on Carlton St. after a strong smell emanating from a residence.</p>
<p>On May 7, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Orillia OPP received a call from a concerned neighbor reporting a strong smell coming from a near by residence. Upon arriving on scene police observed an extensive amount of pet food outside the residence. After several negative attempts to contact anyone, police were forced to make entry. Once access was gained police were unable to make full entry into the residence and requested Orillia Fire to attend with Hazmat suits. After further investigation Animal Welfare was contacted to assist with the removal of several animals in distress in need of medical attention.</p>
<p>Investigation is ongoing with the assistance from the Animal Welfare Services.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="x_ql-align-justify" data-olk-copy-source="MessageBody">The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one driver during afternoon patrols in Gravenhurst.</p>
<p class="x_ql-align-justify">On May 2, 2025 at 3:30 p.m. a Bracebridge OPP officer was conducting general patrol in the town on Gravenhurst and observed a vehicle on Phillip Street commit a traffic infraction. The officer followed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop nearby and subsequently arrested and charged 62-year-old David Horton of Oakville, ON with Operation While Impaired &#8211; Over 80 and Careless Driving.</p>
<p class="x_ql-align-justify">The accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on May 27, 2025 to answer to his charges.</p>
<p class="x_ql-align-justify">Bracebridge OPP has charged 37 drivers to date in 2025 as impaired driving continues to be a significant factor affecting the safety of Muskoka roads. If you suspect someone is driving a vehicle of any kind while impaired, please call 9-1-1.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p data-olk-copy-source="MessageBody">The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged an individual with impaired operation and dangerous operation.</p>
<p>On April 24, 2025, at approximately 1:55 p.m., Orlllia OPP and Orillia Fire responded to a call for a motor vehicle collision in front of a Monarch Drive business. Police were advised that the vehicle had sustained extensive damage and was on fire. With assistance from an off-duty officer the driver a white pickup truck was detained until Orillia OPP arrived on scene. After further investigation police determined the driver was impaired and was arrested.</p>
<p>As a result of this investigation, Nicholas Kloc, 29-year-old of Ramara Township has been charged with:</p>
<ul>
<li>·      Dangerous Operation</li>
<li>·      Operation while impaired &#8211; alcohol and drugs</li>
</ul>
<p>The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia, to answer to the charges at a later date. His driver&#8217;s licence was suspended for 90 days, and vehicle was impounded for 7 days.</p>

Officers conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the female driver.</p>
<p>Officers detected an odour of alcohol. Officers issued an Approved Screening Device Demand (roadside breath testing) but driver flat out refused.</p>
<p>As a result of the investigation, Roberta Orban, 73 years old of Huntsville Ontario, has been charged with:</p>
<p>·      Failure or refusal to comply with demand</p>
<p>The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on May 13, 2025.</p>
<p>The accused was also issued a 90 Administrative Driver&#8217;s License Suspension.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p data-olk-copy-source="MessageBody">A member of the Central Region Time Team has charged two with stunt driving in one traffic stop on Highway 400 North south of Moonstone Road in the Township of Oro-Medonte.</p>
<p>On April 4, 2025, just after 1:30 pm, a sharp-eyed member of the Central Region Time Team conducted a traffic stop on two vehicles travelling together northbound on Highway 400. The officer noted the vehicles travelling at a rate of 174 km per hour in a posted 100 km per hour zone.</p>
<p>As a result, two 19-year-olds from Sudbury both face charges for:</p>
<p>·      Drive Motor Vehicle &#8211; Perform Stunt &#8211; Excessive Speed, and</p>
<p>·      Speeding 50+ km/h over posted speed limit.</p>
<p>Both drivers received a 30-day licence suspension, and the vehicles were impounded for 14 days. Both accused drivers are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.</p>
<p>Drivers and members of the public are reminded to respect our communities, comply with all laws, and not jeopardize the safety of our citizens or our neighborhoods with risky, illegal, and dangerous actions.</p>

<p>On March 14, 2025, at approximately 7:55 a.m., the Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) Team of the OPP stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 69, Magnetawan First Nation.</p>
<p>The vehicle was travelling at a speed of 124 kilometres per hour (km/h) in a posted 90 km/h zone. During the investigation, police located and seized about 50,000 of unmarked cigarettes from the vehicle.</p>
<p>A 69-year-old person, from Thessalon, was charged with:</p>
<ul>
<li>Speeding 1 &#8211; 49 Km/h over posted limit</li>
<li>Purchase unmarked cigarettes for sale</li>
<li>Possess unmarked cigarettes</li>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Members of the Orillia Detachment Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid drug trafficking related charges and seized a quantity of illicit drugs, Crossbow and a firearm after executing a search warrant in Mactier Georgian Bay Township.</p>
<p>In November of 2024, Orillia CSCU began investigating an individual who was allegedly trafficking drugs and in possession of a firearm. With assistance from Muskoka CSCU police were able to utilize investigative techniques and confirm the information.</p>
<p>On January 15<sup>th</sup>, 2025, satisfied with the information gathered, the Orillia CSCU with assistance from Collingwood CSCU and the Orillia Community Mobilization unit executed a search warrant at a Young St. address in Mactier. One person was arrested and safely brought into police custody</p>
<p>As a result of the investigation, the following was seized</p>
<p>Glock 19x handgun (loaded)</p>
<p>9mm ammunition</p>
<p>.223 ammunition</p>
<p>Crossbows (3) and bolts</p>
<p>624 grams &#8211; Cocaine</p>
<p>220 grams &#8211; Cannabis Marihuana</p>
<p>32 tabs &#8211; LSD</p>
<p>$6250 Canadian Currency</p>
<p>Money Counter</p>
<p>Kyle Matts, 35-year-old of Georgian Bay Township, has been held for a bail hearing and charged with:</p>
<p>Possession of prohibited device and unauthorization possession of a weapon X2</p>
<p>Unauthorized possession of a firearm</p>
<p>Unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm</p>
<p>Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose</p>
<p>Possession of firearm of ammunition contrary to Prohibition order X 10</p>
<p>Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000</p>
<p>Possession for the purpose of trafficking &#8211; Cocaine</p>
<p>Possession for the purpose of trafficking &#8211; LSD</p>
<p>Possession of illicit Cannabis for the purpose of selling</p>
<p>Trafficking in a schedule 1 substance.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Central Region of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is proud to be joining forces with agencies across Canada and North America today for Operation Clear Track &#8211; the continent&#8217;s single largest rail-safety law-enforcement initiative.</p>
<p>Coordinated by <a href="https://www.amtrak.com/home.html?msockid=0b194149dbaf64790b7a55f3da05658b">Amtrak</a>, <a href="https://oli.org/">Operation Lifesaver Inc.</a>, and <a href="https://www.operationlifesaver.ca/">Operation Lifesaver Canada</a>, Operation Clear Track aims to reduce railway crossing and trespassing incidents in Canada and the U.S. &#8211; incidents which seriously injure or kill more than 2,100 people each year. The event is held annually during Rail Safety Week from September 23 to 29, 2024.</p>
<p>The OPP is participating in Operation Clear Track this year to promote rail safety by having conversations and sharing tips with drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists. These tips include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Stay at a safe distance from trains and off railway property and tracks</li>
<li>Don&#8217;t use train tracks as a shortcut</li>
<li>Always obey railway signs and signals</li>
</ul>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is seeking the public&#8217;s assistance in an investigation involving a suspicious person in the Township of Minden Hills.</p>
<p>On September 16, 2024, at approximately 6:15 a.m., the complainant was driving and turned onto McKay Street from Bobcaygeon Road when they encountered an individual waving their arms, prompting them to stop the vehicle. The individual claimed to need help and asked the complainant to exit the vehicle. At the same time, the complainant noticed a second individual attempting to open the rear passenger door. As a result, the complainant honked the horn and drove away.</p>
<p>The first individual is described as a male in his 30s, approximately 6 feet tall, clean-shaven, wearing all black, and a hat with a brewery logo.<br />
The investigation is ongoing. If you&#8217;ve experienced a similar incident, police encourage you to come forward and report it.</p>
<p>The OPP is requesting that if anyone was in the area during the timeframe of the incident and saw anything suspicious or has any information, dash cam or surveillance footage that may assist investigators, to please call Haliburton Highlands OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.khcrimestoppers.com.<br />
