										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It&#8217;s election day in <span class="xn-location">Ontario</span> and voting locations are open from <span class="xn-chron">9 AM to 9 PM (Eastern Time)</span>. Unofficial results will be available at <u><a href="https://c212.net/c/link/?t=0&amp;l=en&amp;o=3554726-1&amp;h=86533563&amp;u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.elections.on.ca%2F&amp;a=elections.on.ca" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">elections.on.ca</a></u> after polls have closed.</p>
<p>To be eligible to vote, voters must be Canadian citizens residing in Ontario who are 18 years of age or older today.</p>
<p>Voters are encouraged to check the location of their voting location before they go to vote by entering their postal code in Voter Information Service on elections.on.ca, by downloading the Elections Ontario app or by consulting their voter information card.</p>
<p>For those who have applied to vote by mail, a reminder that voters can return their completed kit in person to their returning office by no later than <span class="xn-chron">6 PM (Eastern Time)</span> today.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s what Elections Ontario is doing to keep voters safe:</p>
<ul>
<li>Masking is optional but hand sanitizer and masks will be available to staff and voters when they arrive at a voting location.</li>
<li>High-touch surfaces will be disinfected throughout the day.</li>
<li>Voters will be asked to physically distance while inside the voting location.</li>
<li>Plexiglass barriers will be in place between election officials and voters.</li>
<li>Curbside voting will be available for voters experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.</li>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Parry Sound-Muskoka Ontario PC candidate, Graydon Smith, has received endorsements from ten current and former elected leaders from across the riding.</p>
<p>Current Huntsville mayor, Karin Terziano, along with former Huntsville mayors Scott Aitchison, Claude Doughty, Hugh Mackenzie, Len Clarke and Ron House have endorsed Smith. Bracebridge acting mayor, Rick Maloney, Mayor of Seguin Township, Ann MacDiarmid, Mayor of Burk’s Falls, Cathy Still, and District of Muskoka Chair, John Klinck, have also endorsed Smith.</p>
<p>“These endorsements are a reflection of my ability to lead, work collaboratively and get things done,” said Smith. “I’m proud that these outstanding community leaders from across the riding &#8211; regardless of party affiliation &#8211; have come forward to publicly endorse my candidacy.”</p>
<p>“Parry Sound-Muskoka needs an MPP with the ability and experience to work alongside municipal leaders and to advocate on behalf of our communities at the decision making table in Toronto,” Smith said. “This distinguished list of leaders recognize what’s at stake for our riding and they know that I’m the candidate most able to deliver real, positive results for Parry Sound-Muskoka.”</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Candidate nominations for the <span class="xn-chron">June 2</span> election have closed, and a full list of candidates for each electoral district is now available at <a href="https://c212.net/c/link/?t=0&amp;l=en&amp;o=3536955-1&amp;h=2399150119&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.elections.on.ca%2Fen.html&amp;a=elections.on.ca" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">elections.on.ca</a>.</p>
<p>A total of 900 candidates and 25 parties are running in this election. In 2018, there were 825 candidates and 28 parties on the ballot. This represents a 9% increase in the number of candidates and a 10.7% decrease in the number of parties participating.</p>
<p>Starting today, voter information cards will be on their way to those on the voters list. While voter information cards are not required to vote, voters can still confirm, update, or add their information to the list until <span class="xn-chron">May 23</span> on our website to make their voting experience faster and easier at the polls. Voters can also access a scannable version of their voter information card when they create an account on the Elections Ontario app.</p>
<p>&#8220;We continue to modernize elections in <span class="xn-location">Ontario</span> to make voting easy. Voters can take advantage of the many voting options available and choose the one that works best for them. I encourage Ontarians to download the Elections Ontario app, where they can get a list of candidates for their electoral district.&#8221;</p>
