Effective today, McDonald’s Canada is making a one-year price promise on two of its flagship offerings: McValue Meals, now priced at $5 and including breakfast items, and small McCafé® coffee, still only $1.

This marks the first time in over a decade that McDonald’s Canada has publicly committed to a price lock of this kind. The decision underscores the company’s dedication to delivering reliable value at a time when Canadians are navigating rising costs. In fact, many Canadians (3 in 5) say that the cost of living is their top concern for 2026*.  McDonald’s McValue promise is unmatched in the Canadian market today – no limited time offers or minimum purchases – just great value people can depend on, all year long.

Year-Long $5 McValue Meal Pricing – Any Time of Day

Canadians already enjoy millions of McValue Meals every month. And now, the company is offering further savings on these popular meals, with the exact same items and portion sizes. In addition, McValue Meals now includes breakfast offerings, also priced at $5 and available daily until 11 a.m. The McValue Meals can be enjoyed at any of McDonald’s Canada’s 1,500 restaurants from coast to coast, whether dine-in or Drive-Thru, at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

• Lunch & Dinner McValue® Meals: McDouble® McValue® Meal, Junior Chicken McValue® Meal and Chicken Snack Wrap McValue® Meal, each served with small fries and a small fountain drink.

$1 Small McCafé Coffee

In July 2024, despite rising coffee costs, McDonald’s Canada introduced $1 small McCafé coffee. During this time, McDonald’s restaurants across Canada also reduced the cost of all other coffee sizes by about 30 per cent on average. Today, the company is committing to keeping the price of small McCafé coffee at just $1 for the entire year, with no minimum purchase.

It’s official! Starting on September 16, the McVeggie™ sandwich will be rolled out nationally at participating McDonald’s restaurants across the country. Following a tremendously positive response to the regional test earlier this year in British Columbia, Ontario, and New Brunswick, the McVeggie will be officially joining the menu to offer Canadians even more delicious and inclusive choices.

Created specifically for the Canadian market, the McVeggie features a breaded veggie patty made with a blend of vegetables—including carrots, green beans, zucchini, peas, soybeans, broccoli, and corn—seasoned to perfection and served with shredded lettuce and a creamy mayo-style sauce on a toasted sesame bun. For those craving a little extra kick, the Spicy Habanero McVeggie is also available, topped with McDonald’s signature creamy Habanero sauce.

“Canadians asked for more options to meet modern lifestyles, and we listened,” said Francesca Cardarelli, Chief Marketing Officer at McDonald’s Canada. “The McVeggie isn’t just a sandwich, it’s a celebration of bold flavour and our commitment to serving all guests and their evolving tastes. While the McFlurry might have captured hearts globally, its roots remain planted in Atlantic Canada. As we mark this significant milestone, McDonald’s Canada invites guests to celebrate the innovation and community spirit that the McFlurry embodies by picking up a McFlurry this summer and enjoying a sweet bite of unique Canadian history. “Creating the McFlurry was about sharing joy,” McLellan reflects. “Seeing it embraced around the world is a dream.”

Taste the Celebration: New Menu Lineup

Celebrate the McFlurry all summer long with limited-time flavours that promise an explosion of taste. This represents the largest donation from local McHappy Day proceeds, and the $25,000 allocated to the GBGH Foundation will be invested in a new ultrasound machine for GBGH. 

“We are truly overwhelmed by the incredible support shown during this year’s McHappy Day,” says Carol Cruden, who owns the local McDonald’s franchises with her husband Mark. “Our amazing staff lead the charge with passion and energy, our volunteers dedicate countless hours at the restaurants, and our community continues to show up in such a big way. Thanks to everyone’s efforts, we were able to raise $50,000 for two very important causes — and we couldn’t be more grateful.”

The community rallied around this year’s event, with dozens of volunteers coming out from GBGH, Midland, Penetanguishene & Springwater fire departments, Southern Georgian Bay OPP, and local municipalities. 

“McHappy Day this year was a truly heartwarming display of generosity within our community,” said Nicole Kraftscik, CEO of the GBGH Foundation. “Mark and Carol’s incredible passion and kindness continue to inspire others to give back, and we are deeply thankful to the Cruden family for their meaningful support of our hospital.”

Carol & Mark Cruden first partnered with the GBGH Foundation in 2018 for McHappy Day.  With this year’s donation, they have raised $116,500 for GBGH, helping to build a children’s play area in the ED at GBGH, investing in the purchase of items for the hospital’s Birthing Unit, and helping to bring an MRI machine to GBGH.
