										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Orillia OPP has charged an individual with stunt driving in the Township of Oro-Medonte.</p>
<p>On March 31, 2024, while conducting traffic patrol on Hwy 11 North bound in the Township of Oro-Medonte, an officer of the Orillia Detachment conducted a traffic stop due to a vehicle traveling at a rate of 152km per hour in a posted 90km per hour zone.</p>
<p>Feifan Yank, 22-year-old of Markham, was charged with:</p>
<p>Adult Drive Motor Vehicle &#8211; Perform stunt &#8211; Excessive speed.</p>
<p>The driver received a 30-day licence suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days. The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.</p>
<p>Drivers and members of the public are reminded to respect our communities, comply with all laws, and not jeopardize the safety of our citizens or our neighborhoods with risky, illegal, and dangerous actions.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Orillia OPP have laid drug trafficking related charges and seized a quantity of illicit drugs inside an Orillia residence.</p>
<p>In January of 2024, Orillia CSCU began investigating an individual who was allegedly trafficking drugs in the Orillia area. Utilizing investigative techniques police were able to positively identify this individual, as well, a residence situated in the north end of Orillia was identified as part of the investigation. On January 25<sup>th</sup>, 2024, satisfied with the information gathered, the Orillia CSCU executed a search warrant at a residence located on Mariposa Drive, Orillia. Three individuals were arrested and safely brought into police custody.</p>
<p>Orillia CSCU was assisted by the OPP Central Region Tactical Response Unit (TRU) and the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) in arresting the individuals.</p>
<p>As a result of the investigation, the following was seized:</p>
<ul>
<li>Suspected 113 grams of Cocaine</li>
<li>Suspected 110 grams Fentanyl</li>
<li>Suspected 148 Oxycodone pills</li>
<li>Digital scales, drug packing and cellular phones</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The estimated street value of the seizure is $20,000</p>
<p>Garnet Seraphine, 27-year-old of Markam, has been held for a bail hearing and charged with:</p>
<p>·      Possession for the purpose of trafficking &#8211; Cocaine</p>
<p>·      Possession for the purpose of trafficking &#8211; Fentanyl</p>
<p>·      Possession for the purpose of trafficking &#8211; Oxycodone</p>
<p>·      Failure to Comply with Release Order</p>
<p>Erin Teachout, 45-year-old of Orillia, has been released with a future court date and charged with:</p>
<p>·      Possession for the purpose of trafficking &#8211; Cocaine</p>
<p>·      Possession for the purpose of trafficking &#8211; Fentanyl</p>
<p>·      Possession for the purpose of trafficking &#8211; Oxycodone</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Amy Bush, 46-year-old of Orillia, has been released with a future court date and charged with:</p>
<p>·      Possession for the purpose of trafficking &#8211; Cocaine</p>
<p>·      Possession for the purpose of trafficking &#8211; Fentanyl</p>
<p>·      Possession for the purpose of trafficking &#8211; Oxycodone</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The OPP Anti-Rackets Branch (ARB) has issued an arrest warrant for a resident of Markham, following an investigation into allegations of fraudulent appeal documents being sent to the Ministry of Transportation.</p>
<p>In January 2021, the OPP received a referral from the Ministry of Transportation in relation to an identified breach within their provincial offences appeals program. The Ministry reported that a number of fraudulent court appeal documents had been received, among other allegations.</p>
<p>OPP ARB investigators have been involved in a lengthy investigation. As a result of the investigation, a warrant has been issued for Jun (John) Huang, 42, of no fixed address. He is charged with:</p>
<ul>
<li>Obstruction of Justice</li>
<li>Uttering Forged Documents</li>
</ul>

<p>On August 13, 2021, at 3:19 a.m., officers from the Haliburton Highlands OPP responded to a single vehicle collision on Kennisis Lake Road in Dysart et al Township.</p>
<p>As a result of that investigation, Kevin Lewis, 33-years-old, of Markham, was charged with:</p>
<ul>
<li>Failure or refusal to comply with demand</li>
</ul>
<p>On August 14, 2021, at 8:41 p.m., officers responded to a fail to remain collision on Tusk Trail in Dysart et al Township. Officers attended the scene and located the involved vehicle a short time later.</p>
<p>As a result of that investigation, Sam Vandergroef, 21-years-old, of Georgina, was charged with:</p>
<ul>
<li>Operation while impaired- alcohol</li>
<li>Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)</li>
</ul>
<p>The accused parties are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Minden, on October 6, 2021. Their driver&#8217;s licences were also suspended for 90 days and the vehicles impounded for a period of seven days.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="ql-align-justify">On June 7<sup>th</sup>, 2021 at 5:15 p.m., Almaguin Highlands OPP Crime Unit executed a Cannabis Act (CA) search warrant at a commercial building on Park Road.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Almaguin Highlands Crime Unit, the OPP &#8211; led Provincial Joint Force Cannabis Enforcement Team (PJFCET), OPP Northeast Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) along with members of the Regional Support Team (RST) and the Provincial Asset Forfeiture Unit (PAFU), seized just under 5000 cannabis plants, over 200 pounds of processed cannabis, and marihuana processing equipment.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">The total value of seized cannabis is estimated to be over $5 million dollars.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">The following individuals are charged with: Unlawfully cultivate, propagate or harvest any cannabis plant at place that is not their dwelling house or to offer to do so and Possession of Cannabis for the purpose of distributing of the Cannabis Act</p>
<ul>
<li class="ql-align-justify">Zong Xiu Jiang, 35-years-old of Markham</li>
<li class="ql-align-justify">Bingkun Gao, 29-years-old of Toronto</li>
<li class="ql-align-justify">Zhwu Chen, 35-years-old of Markham</li>
</ul>
<p>All three accused were released from police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday July 22, 2021 in Sundridge, Ontario.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">The investigation is ongoing.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">The PJFCET is responsible for enforcing the cannabis laws and investigating criminal enterprises that exploit or abuse the legal cannabis market.</p>
