The West Parry Sound OPP, Parry Sound Paramedics and Seguin Township Fire Department responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Tally Ho-Swords Road in the Township of Seguin shortly after 11 p.m. on July 20. Three people died and one person was airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.

Jogpreet Singh, a 24-year-old from Kingston, Ontario, was charged with:

• Dangerous Operation causing bodily harm
• Dangerous Operation causing death – 3 counts
• Operation while impaired causing bodily harm
• Operation while impaired causing death – 3 counts

Singh was held for bail and had a court date on July 22. He was scheduled to reappear before the Parry Sound Ontario Court of Justice on July 29 but failed to appear and is now wanted. The accused is known to frequent Kingston and Brampton.

On May 16, 2023, during a formal count, staff members at the minimum-security unit from Collins Bay Institution, a multi-level security federal institution, discovered that Joshua Kohl was not accounted for.

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) immediately contacted the Kingston Police department and a warrant for the inmate’s arrest has been issued.

Joshua Kohl is 42 years old, measures 183 cm (6’) in height and weighs 72 kg (158 lbs). The inmate has a medium complexion, blue eyes and brown hair.

The inmate is currently serving an indeterminate sentence for second degree murder.

Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Joshua Kohl is asked to contact the police.

CSC will investigate the circumstances of this incident and is working with the police to locate the offender as quickly as possible.

CSC has given the police all of the information available to help arrest the inmate.

Further investigation lead officers to identify the suspect as a 37 year old male from Kingston with ties to the Simcoe County area who was arrested by uniform officers at a King Street Midland business late in the afternoon of March 3, 2023.

The accused remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing on conditions of release related offences. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.

Three people have been charged with 10 criminal offences during a joint proactive investigation between the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit and Kingston Police.

The child sexual exploitation investigation, named Project Clovelly, focused on identifying persons actively luring children on social media for sexual purposes.

Six trained police investigators from the OPP and Kingston Police utilized undercover techniques to access online chatrooms and social media applications designed for children in order to identify, locate and arrest persons looking to sexually exploit children in the Kingston area.

The investigation took place over four days, from September 20 to 23, 2021.

Project highlights include:

• Two individuals were arrested when they showed up to a pre-set location to meet a child for sexual purposes.
• The third individual was arrested on February 1, 2022, after a variety of techniques were employed to identify the accused.
• One of the suspects traveled from Toronto to Kingston and rented a hotel room in order to sexually abuse a child.
• The accused range in age from 31 to 40.
