(Huntsville, ON) – The Town of Huntsville is inviting businesses, community groups and residents to consider supporting an exciting year of community programs, events, and initiatives. Several sponsorship, dedication, and donation opportunities are available throughout 2026, offering fun and meaningful ways to get involved in a variety of areas and interests.

For businesses, it’s a great chance to boost your brand and connect with diverse audiences across Huntsville in memorable, community-minded ways and to get exposure during the busy tourism season and holidays. For residents, dedications and donations offer a heartfelt way to honour loved ones while contributing to the spaces and experiences that make our town special.

No matter how you choose to participate – big or small – your support helps strengthen the culture, heritage, and vibrant spirit that make Huntsville a special place to call home.

Some of the great ways you can get involved include:

Concerts on the Dock
There’s nothing quite like live music by the water to capture the spirit of summer in Huntsville. Back for another unforgettable season, Concerts on the Dock returns in 2026 — and with it comes a standout opportunity for one local business to take centre stage as the presenting sponsor.

Mayor’s Bike Ride and Kids’ Bike Rodeo
The Gear Up for Kids Program is part of the Mayor’s Bike Ride and Kids Bike Rodeo, two family-friendly events promoting bike safety, physical activity, and the power of active transportation. Our Gear Up for Kids sponsors cover the cost of a new bike and safety gear for local youth.

Canada Day
On July 1, River Mill Park will come alive with entertainment, vendors, and family-friendly festivities, bringing together people from all backgrounds to celebrate Canada’s rich history, culture, and achievements. This highly anticipated event offers businesses and community organizations a great opportunity to connect with the community, with sponsorship levels tailored to suit different goals and budgets.

National Indigenous Peoples Day
Each June the Town of Huntsville comes together with community partners to offer a celebration of National Indigenous Peoples Day filled with music, learning, storytelling, and connection – highlighting the vibrant cultures, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. Similar to Canada Day, there are various sponsorship opportunities available.

On February 28, 2026, at the Algonquin Theater, ten finalists competed for the top three spots and the cash prizes that accompanied them. First Prize: $1,500. Second Prize: $1,000. Third Prize: $500.

From father-daughter duos to acoustic enthusiasts, homegrown songwriters to choreographed dancers, the night showcased an incredible range of talent. In the end, it all came down to the top three.

Please welcome to the stage Mackenzie Lockhart!

Claiming third place, Mackenzie delivered a powerhouse rendition of “Back to Black” by Amy Winehouse. Despite admitting it was her first time performing on stage, she displayed a remarkable tone and commanding presence. The judges were blown away by her beautiful sound, while the audience was captivated by what felt like a reincarnation of Amy Winehouse before their eyes.

According to the Algonquin Theater, Mackenzie has been immersed in music since before she could speak. From the lullabies her Oma sang to her as a child to the songs she now hears day and night while working at a karaoke bar, music has remained her constant companion through every chapter of her life.

A multi-disciplinary artist who paints, crafts, writes, and sings, Mackenzie approaches each song like a canvas, layering it with her own colours and emotions. After returning to Huntsville and reclaiming her voice following a difficult past, she found renewed strength in her community, in her close relationship with her mother and sister, and through volunteering at The Table Food Bank. For Mackenzie, singing is not simply about performing lyrics — it is about making people feel something meaningful.

Next up, a star with roots stretching from Bracebridge to Nashville — give it up for Noah Ruttan!

Maybe it’s in his genes? Or maybe in those blue jeans? Without a doubt, this charming cowboy-gentleman is going places. Taking second place, Noah performed his original song, “Bones” (available on Spotify), with his acoustic guitar in hand. His relaxed confidence and heartfelt gratitude toward the audience transformed the theatre into what felt like an intimate concert setting.

The Algonquin Theater shares that Noah grew up surrounded by music. He began writing songs at a young age and soon learned to play guitar, guided by his father and brother, often around a campfire. Inspired by the musicians in his life, he developed a deep passion for songwriting and performance.

Looking ahead, Noah hopes to build a successful career through perseverance and belief in himself. Whether that success comes as a one-hit wonder or through many songs reaching wide audiences, he says he would be grateful for the opportunity.

And now, the finalist who claimed the number one spot — a round of applause for Hollie Stronks!

Hollie Stronks

This angelic singer performed “You Are the Reason” by Calum Scott, treating everyone to her warm, soothing vocals. Judge Sue Kirwin-Campbell described Hollie’s voice as “a fine red wine,” adding that she would happily be sung to sleep by it. The stunning gown, radiant smile, and emotional depth of her performance set her apart from the rest of her competitors.

According to the Algonquin Theater, music has always been central to Hollie’s life. She began vocal lessons at a young age, quickly discovering that singing was her favourite way to express herself. Through music, she developed confidence, creativity, and a sense of belonging that continues to shape her identity.

Growing up with anxiety, Hollie leaned on music for courage and comfort during difficult moments. Singing became more than a hobby; it became a source of strength and reassurance. She expressed deep pride and gratitude for the opportunity to share her passion on the Muskoka’s Got Talent stage.

All three winners received stunning glass trophies along with their well-earned prize money.

Beyond the performances, Muskoka’s Got Talent made a meaningful impact within the community. The event raised $25,000 in support of Community Living Huntsville.

In addition to presenting the show, Community Living Huntsville used the evening to raise awareness about the ongoing shortage of support and services for more than 53,000 adults living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Many of these individuals face heightened risks of homelessness, human trafficking, criminal exploitation, and extreme poverty.

Locally, there continues to be a significant need for accessible housing, meaningful employment opportunities, and strong community connections to ensure long-term stability and fulfillment for these individuals and of all ages.

A particularly heartfelt moment came during a speech by Tall Trees Muskoka owner Ashley Vowels. She openly shared both her challenges and triumphs as the mother of an autistic son. Holding back tears, she explained that her greatest fear is not that her son may never move out of their home, but rather that when she is gone, there may not be someone to love and support him with the same devotion she provides every single day. That commitment is why Tall Trees Muskoka remains a platinum sponsor of Community Living Huntsville — advocating not only for her son’s future, but for the future of all children and adults who require lifelong support.

The evening also showcased Zack Fitzsimmons performing his original song, “Labels” (available on Spotify). A singer, songwriter, and entertainer, Zack is also a dedicated advocate to Community Living Huntsville’s mission. As someone who is autistic, he uses his platform to remind the audience that “labels are just a disguise.”

The Top 10 Finalists will perform live at the Algonquin Theatre in Huntsville, Ontario, on
you bring to the show.”

In addition to bigger prizes, this year’s event will also include a live People’s Choice
vote and a surprise judge hidden in the audience.

Audience tickets for the 2026 show are on sale now, too, giving everyone the chance to
cheer on their family, friends, and neighbours.

Proceeds from the event will support Community Living Huntsville and the not-for-profit
organization’s affordable housing initiatives for people with developmental disabilities

The Maple Blues Revue is an expansion of The Maple Blues Band’s role that provided the musical landscape for The Maple Blues Awards in Toronto from 1999 until their departure in 2023 in pursuit of a new chapter as a touring and recording act. A version of MBR touring in the early 2000’s featured vocalists Chuck Jackson, Dawn Tyler Watson and the late John Mays. Their Live At Twisted Pines recording on Preservation Records documented this period of the groups history. The last revue show of that version took place at Aurora Winter Blues Festival in 2016.

The Maple Blues Band continued with their instrumental shows performing at festivals and theatres. The four track EP, Instramentalz and the full length Cordova Bay Records release Let`s Go demonstrated a strong force of composition that resulted in high energy original instrumental music.

It`s a new era and a new approach to touring for The Maple Blues Band`s Maple Blues Revue. This time around the fluctuating vocal features will be gleaned from a long list of musical friends and colleagues developed over their 26 years as an all star super group. The 2026-27 segment features vocalists, Jay Douglas, Samantha Martin and Suzie Vinnick

The Huntsville Festival of the Arts and the Rotary Club of Huntsville are pleased to announce that tickets are on sale for Disney’s Beauty and the Beast running from March 24-April 2, 2023 at the Algonquin Theatre.

This “tale as old as time” has thrilled more than 20 million people worldwide with show-stopping musical numbers, astonishing sets, and lavish costumes. Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature, the stage version includes all of the wonderful songs written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice. The original Broadway production ran for over thirteen years and was nominated for nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

“Due to COVID, our annual musical has been postponed for two years.” says HfA Executive Director Dan Watson. “We’re thrilled to finally be able to share this fantastic musical with our community. It’s a story that all ages can enjoy together.”

The local production will feature the talents of over 50 local performers and crew members of all ages. Mallary Davenport will take the helm as Director as well as choreography and set design. Alana Nuedling will take on Musical Direction while Costumes will be designed by Barb Hartwick. Barb will also take on the role of Mrs. Potts, and will be joined by other actors taking on lead roles including Skye Goulbourne as Belle, Jim Kelly as the Beast, and Tim Lucier as Gaston. Full casting to be announced soon.

Advance tickets for Beauty and the Beast are now on sale exclusively to HfA Members. The General Public can purchase tickets starting November 15th at 10am through the Algonquin Theatre Box Office. Ticket prices are $30.00 for adults and $20.00 for youth (18 and under). Special prices (available only by calling the box office) are available for a family of four ($90) and for groups of 10 or more (only $25.00 per ticket). All prices include HST.

“We know the cost of living has increased greatly.” Adds Rotary Member Will Gibson. “That’s why we have decided to keep our ticket prices at the pre-pandemic level in order to keep the musical as financially accessible as possible.”

The Huntsville Theatre Company (HTC) is back at the Algonquin Theatre for their first show of the 2022/2023 season! Little Women is written by Kate Hamill, adapted from of the book by Louisa May Alcott.

Director Lauren Rodrigues has said she is excited for audiences to see the classic novel brought to life on stage.

“While the story of Little Women is universally known and loved, I think this adaptation truly brings this story into our modern era. While the story may take place in the past, women today still face the same problems as the March sisters as we try to balance our desires with the world’s expectations. The way Kate Hamill highlights the triumphs and struggles of these characters, it feels deeply authentic and personal for the audience” said Rodrigues.

The play follows the beloved March sisters Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy as they grow up in the middle of the American Civil War. As adulthood approaches, each sister must negotiate her private ambitions with society’s expectations. In a war-torn world defined by gender, class, and personal tragedy, the audience falls for this family of dreamers destined to be imperfect little women.

The cast consists of Aidan McAdams, Paige Meunier, Cailan Laine, Maiya Dyni, Karen Thorn, Pru Donaldson, Drew Hutcheson, Tim Lucier, David Wray and Mackenzie Howard.

Opening night is Thursday, October 20th, 2022 and the show runs until Saturday, October 22ed, 2022 at the Algonquin Theatre. There are three evening performances at 7:30pm and one matinee at 2pm. The audience is seated on the stage for an intimate experience. Tickets can be purchased through the Algonquin Theatre at www.algonquintheatre.ca. If you are interested in a subscription for HTC’s 2022/2023, including Little Women, you can sign up at www.huntsvilletheatre.org.
