Suspicious Package In Bracebridge Determined To Be Safe


Bracebridge OPP received a call on Wednesday May 17, 2018 at 3:10 p.m. from a concerned member of the public about a package that was affixed to the metre station for natural gas on Balls Drive in Bracebridge. Police quickly attended the area, closed Balls Drive to traffic and rerouted buses leaving a nearby elementary school in order that the package could be inspected.

It was determined that the package was placed there for a specific purpose relating to gas flow and did not pose a threat.

Bracebridge OPP appreciates all calls of concern from the public and relies on a strong partnership with community members who are willing to become engaged and report suspicious activity in their community.
