The West Parry Sound OPP charged a Sudbury man with stunt driving on April 21 in the detachment’s sixteenth stop for stunt driving this year.
A member of the West Parry Sound OPP was performing stationary patrol on Highway 69 in The Archipelago Township when the officer saw a northbound vehicle travelling at a high speed just after 12 p.m. The officer stopped the car in the West Parry Sound Detachment’s sixteenth stop for stunt driving so far this year. Grant Deane, 51, of Sudbury was charged with Race a motor vehicle – excessive speed, contrary to section 172(1) of the highway Traffic Act of Ontario (HTA).
Deane is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on May 28. His licence has been suspended for seven days and the vehicle he was operating has been impounded for seven days.
