On September 11, 2019 at 10:30 p.m., West Parry Sound OPP were conducting general patrol in McDougall Twp. Police noted a parked vehicle with the driver’s door open and a lone person out of the vehicle at the intersection of Parry Sound Drive and Nobel Road. Police stopped to render assistance. After speaking to the driver, officers detected an odour of alcohol. The driver registered a “FAIL” on an alcohol screening device and was transported to the West Parry Sound OPP detachment where further testing was conducted.
As a result of further investigation, Paul James, age 55 of Toronto, Ontario was charged with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused is scheduled to appear in Parry Sound Court on October 17, 2019.
