The Southern Georgian Bay OPP have charged a man with impaired driving after responding to a report of a possibly impaired driver operating an E-Bike on Main Street in Penetanguishene on March 20.
Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP responded to the report at about 12:20 a.m. The man was located travelling south on his E-Bike towards Simcoe County Road 93 when he was stopped by officers on Main Street. The officers spoke to the driver and then began a drinking and driving investigation.
As a result of the investigation Derrick Wilson, 42, of Penetanguishene has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired – Alcohol and drugs, Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The E-Bike was towed from the scene and impounded. Wilson’s drivers license has been suspended for 90 days under the Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS) program. He was released with a recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on April 11.
