Snow Valley Resort’s 32nd annual Mash Bash ski and snowboard day raised over $21,000 for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH).

The Mash Bash raised $21,305 to support the purchase of specialized equipment in the NICU, according to the hospital. Snow Valley donated the entire day’s lift ticket proceeds to the health centre and has raised more than $561,000 for RVH over 32 years. Attendees at the bash got to experience a mini tube slide, a slime creation station and an outdoor concert with Rough Draught among other activities. The biggest laughs were reserved for participants of the bedpan races, according to the announcement. During the bedpan races, the winner of the media/celebrity race was Doug Downey, MPP Barrie-Springwater-Oro-Medonte, while the mascot race went to Pita Pete from Pita Pit Barrie. In the tug of war, the joint team of the County of Simcoe Paramedics, Springwater Fire and RVH’s Security beat out the Canadian Forces Base Borden for the victory.
