RVH Receives $25,000 From The Sandra Schmirler Foundation

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) was honoured to accept a gift of $25,000 from the Sandra Schmirler Foundation in support of its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This generous gift will support the purchase of six Neonatal Incubators which will help save the lives of countless premature and critically ill newborns.

The Sandra Schmirler Foundation was created in memory of Sandra Schmirler, a three-time world curling champion and Olympic gold medalist. Inspired by Sandra’s love of family, the Foundation supports the purchase of life-saving equipment for hospitals’ NICUs across Canada and provides scholarships for junior curlers, so that each may grow up to become champions like Sandra. Sherry Middaugh, a world class curler and a friend of Sandra’s, was on hand to represent the Schmirler Foundation and present the cheque to the RVH NICU team.
