Police seeking public assistance following suspicious fire in Orillia


On Friday August 11, 2017 the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a structure fire on Albert Street South in the City of Orillia.

At approximately 12:10 am OPP officers and Orillia Fire Department were dispatched to the Orillia residence which was on fire.

As a result of this incident the Orillia OPP Crime Unit, Central Region Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and the Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM) were called in to investigate further.


As a result of the initial findings of the OFM the fire has been deemed suspicious. The Orillia OPP and Orillia Crime Unit are now conducting an Arson investigation.
