Orillia OPP Seek Suspect During Spike In Thefts And Mischiefs To Unlocked Cars


The Orillia OPP are seeking a suspect related to a recent spike in the number of thefts and mischiefs to unlocked vehicles in the Orillia area. The OPP are reminding the public to take simple precautions, such as always locking your car doors and leaving valuables out of sight, according to news release from March 13.

An unknown male suspect got into an unlocked vehicle and used the remote garage door opener to access the victim’s garage on March 12 just after 4 p.m. The victim had left his vehicle unlocked briefly while he entered his residence and returned to find the suspect in his garage. After a brief altercation, the suspect fled the scene on a bicycle with fluorescent green around the handlebars. The male is described as late 20s to early 30s and was wearing blue jeans, a dark winter coat and a black toque.
