The Orillia OPP have collected over 900 pairs of gloves in addition to hats, scarves and over $1,600 since November in support of the Lighthouse Men’s Shelter.

Last month, members of the Orillia detachment called on the public to donate new and gently used gloves. Gloves were accepted at local businesses including Kahuna Surfshop, Sarahannedipity, Verona Coffee Co. and Walmart Supercentre and the donated items were distributed to local charitable organizations. The Lighthouse Soup Kitchen and Shelter provides services to people in transition in Orillia and the surrounding area. Services include a men’s shelter, meals for families and individuals, help with transitional housing and social services, and clothing for those in need.

The Orillia OPP said they would like to thank their partners and the community for their support.
