OPP impound two vehicles after incidents of stunt driving

On August 24, shortly before 8:00 p.m. a member of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police  was on general patrol on Highway 69 in Henvey Township. Police observed a vehicle travelling 143 kilometres per hour in a 90 kilometre per hour zone and a traffic stop was initiated.

At a result, a 24 year-old man from Bracebridge was charged with: Race motor vehicle – Excessive speed contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA). His licence was suspended for 7 days and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound to answer to his charges.

On August 25, shortly before 5:00 a.m. a member of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police  was on general patrol on Highway 69 in Wall Bridge Township. Police observed a vehicle travelling 178 kilometres per hour in a 90 kilometre per hour zone and a traffic stop was initiated.

At a result, a 20 year-old man from Brampton was charged with: Race motor vehicle – Excessive speed contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA). His licence was suspended for 7 days and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound to answer to his charges.
