OPP Catch Suspended Driver Speeding And With Drugs On Hwy. 11


On August 22, 2019, at 11:00 p.m., Almaguin Highlands OPP Dwere patrolling on Highway 11 in Armour Township and stopped a vehicle for speeding.

The driver was found to be a suspended driver in Ontario. Further investigation led to officers arresting the driver for drug trafficking. Officers located over five kilograms of suspected marijuana in the vehicle.

Michael David Cody Nopper, age 29, of Woodbridge, Ontario, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession for the Purpose of Distributing
  • Speeding
  • Suspended Driving (two counts)
  • Drive Motor Vehicle, No Currently Validated Permit

The vehicle was impounded for seven days as a result of the suspended driving Vehicle Impoundment Program.
