OPP Catch Impaired Driver Going 120 km/hr In A 50 km/hr Zone

On October 11, 2019 at 4:30 p.m., West Parry Sound OPP were advised of a collision on Highway 69, Britt – Byng Inlet.

Investigation revealed that alcohol was a factor and after further investigation, the driver, Clark Hawkins, age 38 of Dufferin, Ontario was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),

The accused is scheduled to appear in Parry Sound Court on October 31, 2019. The accused was issued a 90-day Automatic Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

On October 13, 2019 at 6:00 a.m., members from the West Parry Sound OPP were conducting general vehicle patrol in the Town of Parry Sound. While on Parry Sound Drive, officers attention was drawn to a vehicle travelling 120 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone. Police stopped the vehicle and after speaking with the driver, officers concluded the driver had consumed alcohol. The driver was transported to the West Parry Sound OPP detachment where further testing was conducted.

As a result of further investigation, Tina Radforth, age 32 of McKellar Township, Ontario was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
  • Race a motor vehicle

The accused is scheduled to appear in Parry Sound Court on October 31, 2019. The accused was issued a 90-day Automatic Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Police remind all drivers to Drive Safe and, Drive Sober.
