The Muskoka Lawn Bowling Club has announced that the $530 Community Grant they received from the Town of Bracebridge this spring will be used to purchase eight new scoreboards to help spectators follow the action at tournaments, according to a news release from the club on June 14.
The larger and highly visible scoreboards will be used during tournaments, according to the release. The Muskoka Lawn Bowling Club holds a number of in-house tournaments in addition to three invitational tournaments each season. Sally Mills, president of the Muskoka Lawn Bowling Club, said that spectators are welcome to attend and will appreciate the high level of skill demonstrated by lawn bowlers at the invitational events. The three invitational tournaments are the Colin Taylor Classic from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 12, the Craig Travel Tournament from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 13 and the Muskoka KIA Tournament from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 8
“These new scoreboards will enable the players and spectators to easily see the score at all times, follow the game, and create excitement as the games progress,” Mills said. “Our members are very pleased to have this new equipment, and are grateful to the Town of Bracebridge for their help with funding.”
