Lupták Leads Pioneers Past Maniwaki Mustangs With A Five Point Night

The Bracebridge Pioneers resumed CPJHL regular season play Friday night with an 8-5 victory over the visiting Maniwaki Mustangs.  Kristian Lupták had a big night with 4 goals and 1 assist and was named first star.  Bryce Tracey had 2 goals and an assist, while goalie Jacob Evans got the win.

Two recent additions to the team, Anakin Tooktoo and Braden Simon both had strong debuts with the Pioneers and have quickly settled in nicely with the team. Simon found the score sheet with a goal and as assist and was named 3rd star.

The Pioneers improved their record to 15-7 and moved ahead on the Mustangs for 4th place in league standings, five points behind the Coldwater Ice Wolves.  The Pioneers, however have three games in hand on the Wolves and four on the Mustangs.

Other Pioneers players recording points were:  Carson Jacklin, (1G, 1A), Oliver Hammond (2A), Kayden Voskamp (1A), Michal Zak (1A), Nathan Lyndon, (1A) and Alex Gee (1A).

The Pioneers return to action on Saturday, Jan 20th at 7:00 pm when they host the Essa Stallions at Bracebridge Memorial Arena.
