Gravenhurst Fire Department Extinguishes Fire After House Struck By Lightning


The Gravenhurst Fire Department extinguished a fire early on June 1 after responding to the report of a house being struck by lightning on Fleming Drive just before 2 a.m.

Stations 1 and 2 responded to the report with one pump, one rescue truck, three tanker trucks and two Chief Officers on scene. All occupants of the house were safe and accounted for. Initial reports cited fire in the walls of the home, but crews were able to extinguish the fire with operations ceasing around 4:30 a.m.
