On March 28, 2019 West Parry Sound OPP was on general patrol and observed a vehicle with mechanical issues on Bay Street in Parry Sound. The vehicle was stopped and at shortly after 2:00 a.m., the officer spoke to the driver. The investigation revealed he had consumed alcohol. The West Parry Sound Detachment arrested its fourteenth impaired driver of 2019.
As a result Dana Judge, a 29-year-old male from Wasauksing First Nation, Ontario was arrested and charged with;
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero
- Obstruct plate
- Class G1 licence holder – drive at unlawful hour
- Class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver
The driver was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in Parry Sound court on April 18, 2019. The vehicle he was driving was impounded for seven days.
