Elexicon Energy employees and contractors are working at the Bay Substation in the Bay Street and Muskoka Road North area of Gravenhurst.
Elexicon Energy employees and contractors started working at the site on Monday. Crews are working on the ground grid of the substation as well as installing some new fencing around it. The reason for their outwear and protective gear is due to the presence of arsenic in the soil – likely from historical weed spraying over many years.
A spokesperson with Elexicon Energy says work is expected to be completed by Friday.
