EC Says Some Areas Will See Strong Winds And Up To 40 cm Of Snow

Winter storm warning in effect for:

  • Bracebridge – Gravenhurst
  • Port Carling – Port Severn

Hazardous winter conditions are expected.

Snowfall amounts of 25 to 35 cm and blowing snow is expected today into Wednesday.

Snow at times heavy will begin later this morning. Strong easterly winds gusting up to 70 km/h may cause near zero visibility in blowing snow.

Total snowfall amounts of 25 to 35 cm are likely before the snow tapers off during the day Wednesday.

Impacts to travel are expected. Localized power outages may occur.

This snow is associated with a Colorado Low that will cross Southern Ontario tonight into Wednesday.

Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.

Snow at times heavy will begin this afternoon and continue into Wednesday. Easterly winds gusting up to 60 km/h may cause near zero visibility in blowing snow.

Total snowfall amounts of 30 to 40 cm are likely before the snow tapers off Wednesday afternoon.

Major impacts to travel are likely with this storm. Localized power outages are also possible.

This snow is associated with a Colorado Low that will cross Southern Ontario tonight into Wednesday.

Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
