Rainfall warning issued for:
Port Carling – Port Severn, – Bracebridge – Gravenhurst – Haliburton – Fenelon Falls – Balsam Lake Park – Northern Kawartha Lakes – Lindsay – Southern Kawartha Lakes – Barrie – Orillia – Midland – Owen Sound – Blue Mountains – Northern Grey County South River – Burk’s Falls – Western Algonquin Park – Lake of Two Rivers – Huntsville – Baysville – Parry Sound – Rosseau – Killbear Park – Bruce Peninsula – Sauble Beach – Tobermory
Rain, heavy at times is expected. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.
Rain is expected to start Thursday afternoon and become heavier Thursday evening into Friday.
Rainfall amounts of 25 to 50 mm are possible by Friday evening. Periods of rain will continue into Saturday with an additional 10 to 20 mm of rain possible.
This rainfall is the result of a Colorado low that will track over Northeastern Ontario Thursday.
Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
Keep children and pets away from creeks and river banks.
