Drugs And Taser Seized During Traffic Stop In Orillia

The Orillia OPP have arrested several people in connection with drug trafficking in the City of Orillia.

On March 29, 2019 the Orillia OPP with the Orillia Community Street Crime Unit conducted a traffic stop on Front Street in Orillia. As a result of a short investigation police were able to seize a quantity of cocaine, cash, and a conducted energy weapon (commonly referred to as a taser).

As a result of the traffic stop police have charged 23 year old Tyvon Hall of Etobicoke with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Carrying of a Concealed Weapon
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon or Device
  • Breach of Probation

Police have also charged 23 year old Melvin Ogbomo of Etobicoke with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon or Device
  • Breach of Probation

Both parties will appear in court.

Police also charged 31-year-old Maria Chattizikyriakos of Severn Township with Possession of a Schedule I Substance. She was released on a Promise to Appear for May 07, 2019 in Orillia court

The Orillia Community Street Crime Unit along with the Orillia OPP continues to investigate.

  1. Great job by the OPP! Now lets see if this crime is punished accordingly! We call for gun control! Well if there is no punishment handed out why worry about! These criminals will plea bargain away these charges, get out of jail and laugh at the officers that risk their lives every day for us! Build more jail’s, employ people to look after them. Little hard labour would suffice as well! We treat these criminals with gold gloves, they eat better then our veterans and seniors in this country! Enough said!
