One of the nicer things about the end of summer is the arrival of Huntsville’s Fall and Winter Leisure Activity Guide. The guide, published twice a year, is a must-have community resource for recreational programming, activities and services provided by the Town.

The Leisure Activity Guide was distributed free-of-charge to over 9,000 Huntsville households on Thursday, August 31, 2017 and is available now for pick-up at Town of Huntsville facilities.

Program and Activity Highlights This Season

The ever-popular drop-in programs:

“Our drop-in programs are a great option for individuals who want to try something new, or for individuals who need flexibility in their fitness or leisure routine,” said Simone Babineau, Manager of Recreation and Leisure Services for the Town of Huntsville. “You just pay the drop-in fee when you get here or bulk purchase and use them as you need them.”

Programs to try this season include Wood Carvers, Pickleball, Table Tennis and Bid-Euchre.

‘Maker Series’ returns with options full of creativity:

The ‘Maker Series’ features wonderful workshops designed to offer individuals the opportunity to express their creativity through contemporary arts, crafts and DIYs. This season, join industry experts for easy 3-4 hour workshops, and learn step-by-step a craft or new skill. Try the Watercolour with Wool Workshop, Stained Glass Mosaic Workshop or try your hand at making Festive Décor for your home this winter.

Aquatic fitness for the whole family:

In addition to Red Cross swimming lessons for all ages, this season the Aquatics department has put together a jammed-packed schedule of fun aquafitness and aquatic programs.

“This season you can expect all your favourite programs with a lot more innovation,” says Morven Barnes, Manager of Aquatics for the Town of Huntsville, “We have a new aquatic yoga mat that will be a great addition, and added challenge, for our regular aquafitness classes and we are very excited to launch the new Wibit Wipeout program. This is an aquatic obstacle course, crossfit-style fitness classes for youth.”

These programs are among many of the activities being offered at the Canada Summit Center this fall and winter. To learn more, register or view a schedule of activities offered, please visit the Canada Summit Centre in person or online at
