The following press release was submitted on behalf of candidate Alan Fraser:
Spirit and camaraderie among Conservative nominees, Alan Fraser and Scott Aitchinson, demonstrate the mutual respect and high regard shared among them at a meet-the-candidates session in Port Carling on Saturday.
Three of the four nominees (Alan Fraser, Scott Aitchison and Meghan Shannon) for the federal Conservative candidacy in Parry Sound-Muskoka have been visiting communities around the riding as an outreach effort to interact with local Conservatives. The sessions this weekend were held in Bracebridge, Port Carling, Rosseau and Burk’s Falls.
Mr. Fraser said, “This weekend’s meetings were positive and constructive. I was happy to meet so many members of the Conservative Party in Parry Sound-Muskoka.”
Aitchison, current Mayor of Huntsville and a nominee, reflected by saying he “knows the members who have made it to each of these meet-the-candidate sessions have appreciated the opportunity to ask us questions. Answering those questions has actually been great preparation for whichever one of us will face the other candidates in the general election. I wish all the nominees were prepared to join us.”
These opportunities were organized by Scott Aitchison and welcomed by Mr. Fraser and Ms. Shannon. The effort also seems to be appreciated by local Conservatives as the casual atmosphere enables them to easily mingle with and hear from all nominees. Holly Thompson declined to participate in these events.
If you missed these opportunities, three more are planned. The sessions are between 7-9 pm: Gravenhurst Legion on Tuesday; Huntsville Legion on Wednesday; and the Bobby Orr Community Center on Tuesday, July 2 in Parry Sound.
