Bracebridge resident Cindy Tasch was the grand prize winner of the Paul and Lea Kane Re/Max ParticipACTION Challenge, according to an announcement from Mayor Graydon Smith and the Kanes on the morning of April 3.

Tasch won two nights accommodation and a dinner and breakfast for two at the Inn at the Falls in Bracebridge after participating in the 12-week challenge with over 100 other participants. The Paul and Lea Kane Re/Max ParticipACTION Challenge included twelve weekly challenges to motivate locals to be active and healthy through participation in fitness classes, walking, weight training, climbing and healthy eating at the Bracebridge Sportsplex. Each week, participants accumulated ballots for a chance to win over $1,500 in weekly prizes as well as the grand prize. Over 2,000 ballots were entered for a chance at the grand prize by the end of the challenge.

“I attend classes at the Bracebridge Sportsplex 5-days a week and especially enjoy Yoga and Zumba,” Tasch said. “I am committed to my health, by staying active at the Bracebridge Sportsplex, and want to be a role model for my new grandson, Otis. I am looking forward to spending the weekend, with my husband, at the Inn at the Falls. The ParticipACTION Challenge at the Bracebridge Sportsplex has been so much fun.”

  1. Nice one ! Fitness is a no brainer, we have to help ourselves and quiet relying on the medical side of it to do it! One thing i would like to see is all things tax free as far as gym memberships! What about that! Enjoy your weekend, you deserve it, as well nice one Paul and Lea, great people you are!
