Te need for education and awareness around opioid use in our region continues to be addressed.
Bracebridge OPP are investigating the sudden death of a man in Muskoka after being called to a home on Feb. 9, according to a news release from Feb. 11.
The death is suspected to be related to opioid use. Police said they would like to draw attention to this dangerous situation again as agencies across Canada have been investigating deaths believed to have been caused directly or indirectly by the illegal acquisition, distribution, use and misuse of opioids. The deaths have led to what many are calling a “public health crisis,” as the number of deaths due to overdose continue to rise across the country and the province, the release said.
