Southern Georgian Bay OPP and Central Region S.A.V.E.Team were on the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) trails in the North Simcoe area over March 4-5, 2022 period checking snowmobile operators for incidents of impairment, equipment and trespassing.
The patrols and R.I.D.E. checks by these officers resulted in the following trailside investigations-
- 14 Improper Muffler violations
- 5 Speed violations
- 14 Machine Registration and Drivers Licence violations
- 5 Insurance violations
- 5 Trail Permit violations
- 2 Other equipment related violations
- 1 Liquor violation
Officers conducted R.I.D.E. on the trails during their patrol time resulting in one trailside breath test on the roadside screening device with a pass result.
Involved patrol officers were happy to report that no snowmobile related crashes on trails in North Simcoe were reported.
