Southern Georgian Bay OPP responded to three separate driving incidents during August 24-25, 2019 of which officers entered into impaired driving investigations.
On August 25, 2019 a OPP officer on patrol noted a vehicle travelling through the intersection of William Street and Galloway Boulevard in Midland at 2:15 am August 25, 2019. The officer stopped the vehicle for a possible driving offence and upon speaking with the lone male driver entered into a drinking and driving investigation. Upon completion of that investigation Bradley Wadge 49 years of Midland was charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada driving offences-
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
He was released from police custody and will appear in Midland Court on September 12, 2019, his vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days along with his driver’s licence that has been suspended for 90 days.
On August 24, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. officers on patrol were advised of a possible impaired driver heading northbound on Highway 400 in Tay Township as reported by another driver. An OPP officer located the suspect vehicle and made observations of the vehicle while travelling northbound on Highway 400 and was able to safely stop the suspect vehicle. Upon speaking with the male driver the officer entered into an impaired driving by drug investigation and was assisted by an OPP Drug Recognition Investigator. The result of this investigation resulted in Joseph Bidinot 33 years of New Tecumseth being charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences-
- Dangerous operation
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
He was released from police custody and will appear in Midland Court on September 26, 2019, his vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days along with his driver’s licence that has been suspended for 90 days.
On August 24, 2019 at 3:32 p.m. officers were called to a report of a single vehicle crash on Highway 12 near Talbot Street Tay Township. The officer upon commencing the investigation learned of another vehicle being involved in the crash which had fled the scene prior to the officers arrival. The four occupants of the crashed vehicle were fortunately uninjured as the vehicle entered in the south ditch of Highway 12.
Information of the suspect vehicle was broadcasted and was shortly thereafter located and stopped while northbound on Highway 400 near South Gibson Lake Road. The male driver was arrested for impaired driving by members of the Parry Sound OPP detachment and a drinking and driving investigation was commenced resulting in Jacques LePage 28 years of McKellar Township being charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada driving offences.
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Dangerous operation
- Failure to stop after accident
He was released from police custody and will appear in Midland Court on September 5, 2019, his vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days along with his driver’s licence that has been suspended for 90 days.
We just have to tighten the laws up on these people not just slap them on the wrist and put them back on the street. they should get a year in jail to think about driving drunk and lose there licence for 5 years none of this 90 day crap. Just a matter of time until they kill someone.
