Town of Parry Sound – Rosseau – Killbear Park,

Current details:
Heavy flurries and local snow squalls beginning late this afternoon.

Hazard:
Locally heavy snowfall of 15 to 25 cm.
Wind gusts of 60 to 80 km/h in combination with the new snowfall resulting in significantly reduced visibility in snow and blowing snow.

Timing: Late this afternoon through early Thursday morning.

Discussion:
Locally heavy flurries and snow squalls are forecast to develop late this afternoon in the wake of a strong cold front. These flurries and snow squalls will last through tonight before shifting south of the area early Thursday morning.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
