A search warrant was executed on a William Street, Midland residence at 5 a.m. March 25, 2022 as result of an ongoing Controlled Drugs and Substances Act investigation.
Southern Georgian Bay and Huronia West/Collingwood OPP lead the investigation and were assisted by several OPP resources.
As a result of this investigation, an quantity of Fentanyl, Cocaine, Methamphetamine, prescription pills along with Canadian currency and drug trafficking paraphernalia was seized.
The six people located inside the home were arrested and charged as follows.
Warren Edwards 38 years of Midland
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Opioid, Fentanyl
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Cocaine,
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance, Methamphetamine
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000.00
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.00
The accused was released on an undertaking and will appear at a later date before the Ontario Court of Justice
Vance Sylvester 32 years of Christian Island
- Assault with a Weapon
- Forcible Confinement
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Fail to Comply with Probation
The accused was held for a show cause hearing and will appear at a later date before the Ontario Court of Justice
Stevie Hook 30 years of Midland
- Obstruct Peace Officer
- Fail to Comply with Appearance Notice
The accused was released on an undertaking and will appear at a later date before the Ontario Court of Justice.
Two people that were arrested were released to other police services for ongoing judicial processes.
One arrested person was released at the scene of the investigation.
