Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions received a donation of over $33,000 worth of toys, gift cards and cash on Dec. 10 following the 2018 Stuff A Command Post Toy Drive held by the South Simcoe Police Service.

Officers along with new recruits, auxiliary officers and volunteers brought the donations to the Family Connexions office in Barrie. There were 1,781 toys donated (valued at $32,000) and $1,417.60 raised in gift cards and cash. The police service partners with CTV Barrie each year for their toy drive and the toys will be given out to approximately 400 children in Bradford and Innisfil.

“The community just put their arms around families and children this year. It’s absolutely amazing,” said Melanie McLearon, director of communications for Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions. “There are children that will have smiles on their faces and they’re going to have happy times with their families over the holidays this year.”
