Wind warning in effect for:

  • Port Carling – Port Severn
  • Town of Parry Sound – Rosseau – Killbear Park

Strong winds expected overnight.

Strong southwest winds with gusts to 90 km/h are expected to develop in the wake of a cold front sweeping through Southern Ontario after midnight. The winds will shift to westerly Friday morning but may stay strong for much of the day Friday.

Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.


Freezing drizzle advisory in effect for:

  • Bracebridge – Gravenhurst
  • Huntsville – Baysville

Periods of freezing drizzle are expected to affect the region today. There is the potential for a brief period of freezing rain this afternoon before temperatures rise above zero and the precipitation changes to rain or drizzle.

Challenging winter travelling conditions are expected today due to the prolonged period of icing.
