Several Charges Laid After Kilworthy Resident Resists Arrest

Orillia OPP officers have charged a female motorist as a result of a vehicle stop Saturday evening.

On the 1st of April 2023 shortly before 10:00 pm, officers stopped a vehicle for several Highway Traffic offences. Interactions with the driver determined that she was breaching several release conditions. Upon further investigation a search of the vehicle was conducted and a substantial amount of suspected drugs and trafficking paraphernalia were located and seized. While officers were initiating the arrest the female resisted arrest leading to further charges.

Shantel Rolland, 35 years of age, of Kilworthy has been charged with the following;

Adult Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court X 2

Adult Resist Peace Officer X 2

Adult Poss of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

Adult Poss of a Scheduled I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin)

The accused was held for a Bail hearing.
