Current details:
Winter weather travel advisory in effect for tonight.

Hazards:
Slippery road conditions and reduced visibility.
Local snowfall accumulations of 5 to 10 cm by early Sunday morning.

Timing:
Late this afternoon through early Sunday morning.

Discussion:
Lake effect snow off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay will create reduced visibility and slippery road conditions. Snow may initially melt on roadways and walkways as temperatures fall this evening. As a result, black ice formation may occur on untreated surfaces.

Lake effect snow will gradually weaken and lift northward by early Sunday morning.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance.
