School Bus Cancellation Protocol Reminder

0

With winter weather approaching, TLDSB would like to put out a friendly reminder about bus cancellation protocols.

The safe transportation of students to and from school is the guiding principle in all decisions to cancel buses. Bus transportation may be cancelled during inclement weather or due to poor or deteriorating road conditions. Each geographical area of the board (City of Kawartha Lakes, Haliburton, and Muskoka) is assessed independently. The decision whether or not buses will be cancelled is made in consultation with bus operators taking into consideration existing road conditions, weather conditions as reported by Environment Canada, and any other information available at the time the decision has to be made.

When a bus cancellations occurs, you can go to any of the following places to get up-to-date information:

● TLDSB social media – Twitter (@TLDSB) and Facebook (@TLDSB)
● TLDSB website – tldsb.ca
● www.mybustoschool.ca

All schools remain open on snow days. If a parent drives their child to school on a bus cancellation day, it is their responsibility to pick up that child at the end of the day.
