A report to the OPP Communications Centre at 10:40 p.m. May 17, 2022 of a vehicle theft from an Overhead Bridge Road business lead to a vehicle stop on Simcoe County Road 93 and the arrest of the driver just after 11 p.m. May 17, 2022.
Officers completed their investigation and have charged Jeffrey Bruce Tell, 45 years of Penetanguishene with the following offences.
- Theft over $5,000 of a Motor Vehicle
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition contrary to a Prohibition Order
- Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Operation while Prohibited
The accused was released on a recognizance and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date.
